Fressnapf is opening gigantic stores

Europe's leading pet food and accessories store chain is opening its first store based on the new "XXL" concept in the Új Buda Center with the support of CBRE.

Fressnapfhas been considering for a long time opening stores in Hungary thatare twice the size of its usual stores. "Many countries in Europe have already successfully implemented the XXL concept where customers can shop on 1,400 square meters and can also buy live animals, such as fish, rodents, reptiles, and even spiders. We were already established in the Új Buda Center, and now we had a chance to double our leased area. We are introducing two new service features in early November of 2013: hygienic care (grooming) for dogs and cats as well as training for both young and adult dogs by professional trainers." – said Miklós Tamási, Managing Director of Fressnapf Hungária Kft.

"Fressnapf’sexample shows that companies operating with a good business model can take advantage of the current market situation and open new stores. It was needed to completely refurbish three shops to get the desired space for our client. It was a huge complexity but withour support our client realized the store concept which has been already operating successfully in Western Europe." - Szabolcs Koroknai, Senior Property Adviser at the Retail Division of CBRE added.
